I am Jane Gardner from Sewell & Gardener.
I was running a very successful estate agency with 3 branches and a particularly strong lettings department and I was always trying to be innovative and offer something new to my customers to keep me ahead of the competition. I attended a Property Academy seminar ‘Marketing Live’ and was blown away by some of the ideas discussed, filling my notebook with plans for implementation into my business. The results were so effective that I felt encouraged to enter The Lettings Agency of the Year Awards in 2011, where I was blown away to win a regional Gold, a huge and very happy surprise. After this win I was invited by Peter Knight of the Property Academy to come along to the newly established Marketing Group and I was very impressed so joined immediately! I was amongst 14 like-minded agency owners and marketing specialists from some of the best agencies in the Country, small and large, sharing our ideas, discussing our issues, helping each other to strengthen our own businesses from an informed platform. We were privileged to have intimate sessions with some of the best speakers around on subjects from recruiting, training and retaining an engaged workforce, implementing new technologies and best practice for our online presence, monitoring our ROI and much more.
Within 2 years I had established firm friendships with so many agency owners providing a network of genuine assistance for all aspects of my business. I went on to win the Overall Lettings Agency of the Year trophy in 2013, one of the proudest moments of my career and very much down to the competitive edge I had forged from the wisdom gained via The Marketing Group sessions. I have since gone on to sell my lettings business to a corporate agency and am looking forward to moving into the Lettings Group where I feel I can offer great insight and assistance to other businesses.
