Flood action.
One advantage of having accumulated a reasonably sizeable library, is never being short of inspirational literature.
Quite often, I’ll pick a book off a shelf at random, open it at any page and see what it has to offer in the moment.
And today’s four-i is therefore brought to you thanks to William Shakespeare no less, (albeit quoted elsewhere).
“There is a tide in the affairs of men,
Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.”
The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, Act 4, Scene 3, Lines 218-224
“There is a tide in the affairs of men” – Markets ebb and flow
“Which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune” – and when they’re challenging can yield huge dividend
“Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and miseries” – but if not grasped, it results in regret and disappointment
“On such a full sea are we now afloat” – and now we have one of those moments
“And we must take the current when it serves” – so grab it
“Or lose our ventures” – or miss out, not just now but in the future too.
