Welcome to four-i December

Congratulations to all of the 2016 Estate Agency of the Year Award winners who collected their accolade last Friday at the most prestigious event in the industry!

It was a fantastic day and I really hope that all the winners are taking the time to celebrate and ‘breathe in’ (as Martin Kemp put it!) last weeks’ success. Now is a really great time to reflect back on the year and recognise all of your successes, not only of the company, but also of the people within your team that make it happen. At a time of year when many will be considering their future career plans, it is incredibly important to recognise each and every person in the team.

Yesterday we had our final ‘Success Lunch’, where the team nominate their colleagues for ‘over and above’ positive actions from the previous two months. I decided to take a look at some of the comments from the beginning of the year – you can see how many there are!

Taking the time to appreciate each individual team member and reward their progress is incredibly important. Both Martin Kemp and Pete Wilkinson, who spoke at EA LIVE, commented on the importance of acknowledging success and progress, before moving straight on to the next goal.

We also have a couple of interviews with real estate coach Josh Phegan where I asked him what impact he thinks online agents will have in the UK and Australia, and he reveals how Purple Bricks are getting on so far down under.

Our book summary this month is ‘Black Box Thinking’ by Matthew Syed. Danni, our Membership Manager has taken the time to read it through and has summarised the top ideas from this bestseller, which seeks to show how to embrace failure in order to succeed.

Glyn Trott of Pinnacle and LetMC has kindly shared his Mastermind Tip of the Month, touching on tenant fees and how his businesses will approach this change in legislation.
