Why is it important to manage stress within Property Management teams, and what are the best ways to do so?
Sue Firth, Business Psychologist and Stress Management Expert
Performing under pressure takes practice because in the face of stress, our brains tend to want to shut down, reducing our focus, increasing anxiety and stopping us from being able to problem-solve.
We can build resilience though by learning how circumstances, and our reactions, are influenced by mood and our thoughts, then we can develop the ability to bounce back from difficult situations.
Recognition is the first thing so we can identify what situations press our buttons, followed by focussing our attention with a series of tools that reduce the pressure we’re feeling. This focus enables us to get back in control and handle the issues we’re dealing with.
